Every Life Is a Story: A Writing Workshop

Why not try to write down your stories and see what happens?

Every life is a story. Some are humble, some are full of drama, and some alternate between fulfillment and turmoil. But each day one tells a story, composed of the bits and pieces we call everyday life.

The Clearwater Library Foundation is offering an eight-week memoir-writing workshop, for writers of all levels who want to explore the genre. Popular examples include Eat, Pray, Love; Tuesdays with Morrie; Just Kids; and The Year of Magical Thinking. The class covers how to share personal experiences, shape them into narrative form and provides opportunities to gain experience through brief in-class writing assignments, including useful commentary that is shared among the group. Registration is required.

Annemarie Micklo, the workshop facilitator, is a writer and editor with more than 40 years of experience. Her published articles and poetry have appeared in national magazines and newspapers and been broadcast on California's Pacifica radio network.

The class meets Mondays, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., June 1 through July 20 at the Clearwater Main Library, 100 N. Osceola Ave. Space is limited. For further information or questions please contact the Clearwater Library Foundation (727) 562-4970 x 5189.
