Health Insurance

  • 100% paid for all permanent full-time employees
  • Employee Assistance Program to assist in resolving Personal & family issues through counseling (first 5 visits free)

Optional Dental Insurance

  • The city offers optional group plan coverage and rates for dental insurance (premiums paid through payroll deduction).

Life Insurance

  • $2,500 Life Insurance (standard for all full-time employees)
  • Option to purchase additional Life Insurance
  • Group Life (up to 4x salary)
  • (City will pay ½ the premium up to 1% of annual salary)
  • Other Long-term Disability Insurance available (AFLAC)

Paid Time Off

  • Full-time permanent employees - 13 paid holidays per year
  • 10 to 20 vacation days provided per year based upon years of service/position
  • Full-time permanent employees - up to 12 sick leave days per year

  • Non-Hazardous Duty Hired prior to January 1, 2013: Thirty years of credited service and any age OR twenty years of credited service and age fifty-five OR ten years of credited service and age sixty-five.
  • Non-Hazardous Duty Hired on or after January 1, 2013: twenty-five years of credited service and age sixty OR ten years of credited service and age sixty-five.
  • Hazardous Duty: Twenty years of credited service and any age OR ten years of credited service and age fifty-five.
  • 401(A) - 8% Contribution
  • 457 Deferred Compensation (contributed pre-taxed basis)
