The Planning and Development Department works with our citizens and business community to plan, build and maintain a vibrant, competitive, and livable Clearwater with an emphasis on professional customer service, education and safety.

Effective January 1, 2016 holders of expired permits will be charged a Non – Refundable expired permit fee of $200.00 when obtaining a new permit. This Non – Refundable charge will be placed on any, and all, new permits obtained until all expired permits have been successfully completed. Please check your records and take the necessary action to complete your permits. To check the status of your permits online, please go to our department’s webpage: www.myclearwater.com/epermits.
Online Applications for Level One (Flexible Standard) and Level Two (Flexible Development) AVAILABLE NOW!
Residents and businesses wanting to apply for Level One (Flexible Standard) or Level Two (Flexible Development) approval will be required to complete their application submittals online beginning on September 25, 2015. If a resident or business owner does not have access to a computer, Planning and Development Department staff is available to assist in scanning and/or uploading their documents at the Municipal Services Building (100 S. Myrtle Avenue). For directions on how to use the City’s ePermits website, as well as for a copy of our application submittal requirements, please visit: epermit.myclearwater.com.
Please be advised that process limitations dictate that the acceptance of submissions will occur only for those applications that are limited to the required information. Submissions that include excess or extemporaneous information will be rejected and resubmission will be required. Additionally, submittals that are late (after 12:00 PM on the submittal day) will not be accepted by the ePermit website for that application submittal cycle.
