Celebrate Hispanic Heritage with the Rhythms of Latin Music

92.5 MAXIMA FM and City of Clearwater Present

Hispanic Heritage Concert 2013

CLEARWATER, Fla. – Latin music will fill the air when the Hispanic Heritage Concert returns to Clearwater’s Coachman Park Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013. Internationally known musical performers will bring an array of styles to the stage including salsa, merengue and reggaeton.

Latin Grammy nominee Victor Manuelle is known for his salsa infused vibe that appeals to all ages of Latin music fans. Hector “El Torito” Acosta brings a history of performing salsa music from his days as a member of Los Toros. N’Klabe is a chart topping salsa group sure to perform their hit single “La Banda” which reached number one on Billboard’s Latin Tropical list last year.

If you haven’t heard of reggaeton, this is your chance to experience a cultural beat quickly growing in popularity across America. Reggaeton is a popular dance style of music that fuses a mix of Jamaican reggae with traditional Latin music with a twist of hip hop. J Alvarez and the musical duo Zion y Lennox will showcase their versions of reggaeton which has been popular in Latin cultures since the 1970s.

Rounding out the genres is the Puerto Rican group Limi-T 21 offering a spin on traditional merengue music by incorporating blues, R&B and hip hop into their sound.

The event will offer an activity area for children and food vendors will add more flavor to this colorful cultural occasion. “It’s a mix of Latin cultures culminating into a family fun day filled with entertainment for all ages at the park,” says City of Clearwater Recreation Program Coordinator Brian Craig.
