Water Main Break on Clearwater Beach

Clearwater, Fla. -- A water main break has occurred on Clearwater Beach on Coronado Avenue near the intersection of Devon Drive. Crews from the City of Clearwater’s Public Utilities department are on-site, and an emergency repair is being made to restore the main. The cause of the break is not certain at this time.

City utility crews have begun the repair of the 6" water main, and the repair will be completed sometime today. This water main services Pier House 60 Marina Hotel and Sea Captain Resort on Clearwater Beach. The addresses affected are 101 Coronado Avenue and 40 Devon Drive. The water service to these addresses will be interrupted during the repair which is expected to take 4 to 6 hours.

A Precautionary Boil Water Notice will be issued for the affected properties. Water samples will be taken to the lab, and the city expects to have results by Monday, Sept. 30. A Rescission notice will be issued to the affected properties when the water samples are reported clear.

Traffic on south Clearwater Beach may be impacted during the repair. Please call (727) 562-4960 with questions.
