Upcoming Road & Lane Closures in Clearwater

CLEARWATER, Fla. -- The following road and lane closures will take place in the City of Clearwater:

NOW THROUGH MID-DECEMBER

Betty Lane from Union Street o Sunset Point Road will be closed to traffic (except local traffic) now through mid-December due to utility and sewer work including manhole and pipe installation. Detour routes include Sunset Point Road and Douglas Avenue.

STARTING MONDAY, NOV. 18

The two southbound lanes of Mandalay Avenue from Baymont to Papaya streets will be closed to traffic due to stormwater improvements for two 48-hour periods starting Monday, Nov. 18 and ending the evening of Tuesday, Nov. 19 and also starting Wednesday, Nov. 20 and ending Thursday, Nov. 21. (The lanes will be open the evenings of Tuesday, Nov. 19 and Thursday, Nov. 21.) Baymont Street and Poinsettia Avenue can be used as detour routes. Message boards will be in place prior to the closures to notify the public. Use caution and obey signage when traveling through the area. Lanes will be permanently open Thursday night pending issues.

Palmetto Street at Pennsylvania Avenue will be closed to traffic Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 18 and 19 to reconstruct the road base. Residents should allow extra time through this area and follow the posted detour route.

TUESDAY, NOV. 19 TO JAN. 3, 2014

The northbound curb lane of Fort Harrison Avenue from Marshall to Engman streets will be closed every day Nov. 19 to Jan. 3, 2014 daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for driveway, curb, and sidewalk modifications. Allow additional time when traveling in the area.

MONDAY & TUESDAY, NOV. 25 & 26

The two northbound lanes of Mandalay Avenue from Papaya to Baymont streets will be closed to traffic due to stormwater improvements starting Monday, Nov. 25 and ending Tuesday, Nov. 26. Detour routes include Papaya and Baymont streets. Message boards will be in place prior to the closures to notify the public. Use caution and obey signage when traveling through this area.
